  1. Lift off the waterproof rubber plug from the soil sensor housing to open the battery compartment.
  2. Loosen the screws on the side and open the battery compartment cover to expose the battery slot..
  3. Place the battery into the slot, ensuring the positive and negative ends match the markings.
  4. Push the inner tube back into the casing and tighten the screws again to lock everything in place.
